Our second draw of the year starts right on time on Winnisquam along with a bunch of new boats, YUP – Skeeters! Congrats to John Diaco and Joe Spinello and Bayard Lohmiller. They are beautiful boats. Good luck an all the best
So get this, out of 27 players we had talk at the registration table of at least 4 captains seriously considering fishing the night tournament on Winnipesaukee out of West Alton Marina. All I can say to those crazies - You are die hards. Let me know how that worked out for you. Hope you had fun.
All right let’s get to the beef. For some it was a tough tough day but then you always have the exception and today is no exception. Coming in first place Alan (ole man) Denise with a whopping bag of 2 largemouths at 10.03. Alan held our lunker right up to the bitter end with a 5.56 Katie and I saw Alan a couple of time during the day, he claimed early that he was having a hard day. That was crap. He had his limit by 11 am and then he had a tough decision to make on a 2 fish limit. He already had his limit – one respectable smallmouth and one largemouth. The largemouth was a significantly large largemouth and his third was close to 6 pounds. Instead of going for the hat trick he decided to go for the win and over went the smallmouth. We will never know if it was the lunker.
Coming in second place Carl Cote with 8.09 anchoring this handsome bag with lunker largemouth of the day 5.92, bumping our buddy Alan out of the lunker payout. Well done Carl. Carl talks to having all his fish early on and had that big fish by 8:30 in the morning. Senkos and tubes all day.
Coming in third, Gerry (Gerry) Blanchette. Katie and I got to watch Gerry working his spot pretty early on. We were not to far from him when he got his large smallie. This also held the lunker for quite awhile. Gerry come to the scale with 1 and 1 with a total bag 7.78. Gerry also shard that he caught the bigger largemouth at 2:30 in the afternoon on a tube.
First loser – Ryan Richardson with 6.68. Ryan threw his trusty Senko all day long. He had his limit early on and culled for ounces.
Taking our lunker smallmouth Bayard Lohmiller with 3.66 pig. He caught that bad boy on a tube in cabbage around 12 foot deep.
Congratulation to all the winners. Special thanks to Mike Day, Greg Day, Martel’s our host and all those that helped with parking.
See you at the next draw July 31 on the Connecticut River casting your dreams.
